En Provence Mystery Clue 2 and THREAD!

EP  clue 2 uses the Tri  Recs  ruler. This is the first time that I have used this ruler.  After a small learning curve, I got into the swing of things with a few miscuts along the way. Then I sewed my block together only to discover that it fell short of 3 1/2 " in width. I checked my cutting, seam allowance and pressing. Tried again and still fell just shy of 3 1/2 inches!!!   "WHAT THE WHAT!?"
Then it dawned on me that it is like a flip and sew in that you have to make allowances for the thread when you fold over the seam.  Bingo! I just made sure that I barely grazed the seam guide when guiding the the patch through the machine. And Yep I'm on my way to a hundred units!

Only about 70 more units to go!  I  really love Bonnie's mystery quilts.   This is my second one And I  learn something new each time.

En Provence Mystery Quilt

My Fabrics for this years mystery.
Black Friday launched the beginning of  Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt. While everyone was out in the maddening crowd, I was busy feeding layers of fabric through my accuquilt with glee! Then with 2 inch strips in hand I skipped to my sewing machine and proceeded to put petal to the metal and cranked out my clue1 4-patches. And all was right with my world. For this years mystery check out this link.http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2016/11/en-provence-mystery-monday-link-up-part.html.
